Takes only 4 minutes
Hey there, crew!

Imagine this: It's a chilly winter day in the city, the perfect time for a heartwarming celebration with your four-legged family member. Whether it's a barkday or a gotcha day, baking a dog-friendly cake together is not just a treat, it's a bonding experience!

While we humans love our sugary, chocolatey cakes, these are a big no-no for our pooches. That's why we at dogin' are here to guide you through making a cake that's not just safe but absolutely tail-waggingly delicious for your dog! Our winter-themed recipe features dog-safe ingredients like whole wheat flour, applesauce, dogin’ peanut butter (xylitol-free), and carrots. Remember, no chocolate or xylitol! These ingredients are harmful to dogs but don't worry, we've got you covered with healthy and tasty alternatives.

A Recipe for Puppy Love

Our special dogin'BOX winter recipe is easy and fun! It includes seasonal ingredients like pumpkin or banana to tailor the cake to your dog's taste buds. The recipe is straightforward, ensuring a pawsome outcome even for busy pet parents.

Ingredients:

120gr whole wheat flour (a healthier option for dogs)

5g baking soda (to help the cake rise)

60ml unsweetened applesauce (for natural sweetness)

70gr dogin’ peanut butter (xylitol-free, as xylitol is toxic to dogs)

1 pack of dogin’ Space carrots (for added nutrients and texture)

1 pack of dogin’ Space pumpkin or dogin’ Space banana (for seasonal flavor and moisture)

1 egg (to bind the ingredients together)
Water as needed (to achieve the desired batter consistency)

Frosting:

Plain Low-fat Greek yogurt (a healthy and dog-safe frosting base)

dogin’ Space banana or dogin’ Space topper (for flavor)

Instructions:

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 175°C.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and baking soda. Grind and add the dogin’ Space treats – banana, carrot, pumpkin.

Add Wet Ingredients: Stir in the applesauce, peanut butter and egg. Mix well. If the batter is too thick, add a little water to reach a pourable consistency.

Prepare the Pan: Grease a small cake pan or a cupcake pan if you prefer individual servings.

Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool the Cake: Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.

Frost and Decorate: Spread a thin layer of Low-fat Greek yogurt over the cake and decorate with your dog’s favourite healthy treats – like Space chicken hearts or Space topper with pork liver.

Celebrate: Now it's time to celebrate! Serve a small portion to your dog and watch them enjoy their special treat.

Remember: Always consider your dog's dietary needs and any allergies they may have. Keep portion sizes appropriate to avoid overfeeding.
